ROW Webinar: Global lessons learned – advancing mental health in the workplace
Free | Wed 23 February 2022, 10am – 11am (NZST)
Overview:
Welcome to 2022!
For our first webinar of the year, we’re delighted to be able to speak with Sandra Koppert, Director of Mental Health Advancement at the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
During her time at the MHCC, Sandra has developed strategies and led projects to promote awareness and facilitate action on psychological health and safety in workplaces across Canada. Among these projects was leading the national By Health, For Health Collaborative, a group of health leaders seeking to advance workplace mental health in health-care settings. Under her leadership, the MHCC championed the development, release, and ongoing promotion and uptake of the National Standard of Canada for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students. Sandra also oversees a range of other population-based initiatives related to the justice system, older adults, and youth.
In this broad and wide-ranging discussion, we’ll cover the Canadian National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, which was the first of its kind in the world. We’ll also touch on how the face of Workplace Mental Health in Canada has shifted over the backdrop of lengthy COVID-19 lockdowns. And finally, we’ll explore the cultural shifts that we need to undertake to create a mentally healthy culture.
The agenda
1. Guest interview: We’ll start this session with the guest interview, facilitated by Sarah McGuinness.
2. Group discussion: After the interview, then we’ll open the ‘floor’ for discussion, and we welcome any questions you have about the interview topic.
3. News: We’ll invite you to share any news or wins, or ask workplace wellbeing questions of the group. Sarah will also share updates from the world of workplace wellbeing.
