In today’s complex world, understanding the profound impact of trauma on individuals and organisations is crucial. During this webinar, our expert speaker Ross Anderson will share evidence-based strategies for fostering a trauma-informed workplace culture and promoting a wellbeing approach to recovery.

In this webinar, we will discuss how trauma-informed leadership can support employees in your workplace. We’ll explore key topics such as the neurobiology of trauma, understanding signs of distress, implementing trauma-sensitive policies, and leading appropriate care strategies. We will also explore the concept of post-traumatic growth.

Ross Anderson is a registered psychologist, executive coach and an experienced designer, developer and facilitator of leadership development initiatives for a broad range of organisations. A former Director of MBS Mt Eliza executive education with responsibility for the public sector Australia and Pacific region he has managed large complex change initiatives in Defence, Health and Utilities. He was also responsible for a global project with BHP Billiton.

Ross has dedicated his career to supporting individuals and communities in crisis situations. His initial career as a psychologist was in clinical practice and he became a leader in the field of trauma management and crisis response and was a former Director of the National Trauma Clinic. His trauma experience included attendance at Queen St., Hoddle Street and Port Arthur Massacres and workplace injuries and fatalities and with victims of crime and offenders. He has given evidence in County, Magistrates and Supreme Courts.

Ross’s expertise extends beyond trauma management, encompassing leadership and team development. He works closely with executives from various organisations, exploring topics such as emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, influencing skills, engagement, resilience, life purpose, and career guidance.

Ross’s collaborative efforts have also extended to organisations including Defence, Red Cross, Ambulance Victoria, Melbourne Water, SA Health, Queensland Health, Airservices, Australian Federal Police, and forestry organisations. Through designing and leading programs, Ross has helped these institutions foster effective strategies and create a supportive work environment for their employees. Join us as Ross shares his expertise and empowers you to create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed workplace environment.

1. Guest interview: We’ll start this session with the guest interview, facilitated by Sarah McGuinness.

2. Group discussion: After the interview, then we’ll open the ‘floor’ for discussion, and we welcome any questions you have about the interview topic.

3. News: We’ll invite you to share any news or wins, or ask workplace wellbeing questions of the group. Sarah will also share updates from the world of workplace wellbeing.
